Memories of Me
Following a heart attack, Abbie Polin (Crystal), a New York doctor, travels to Los Angeles to see his father, Abe (King), who works as the "king of the extras" in Hollywood. For several years, their relationship has been strained. This was Henry Winkler's first film, and much of it was shot at the MGM Studios in Culver City, California, just a few miles from Hollywood. Lisa, Abbie's romantic interest, also pays a visit and bonds with Abe, who gets along famously with everyone except his son. Abe experiences memory loss and is eventually diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. He and his son grow closer over time, and Abbie tries to get Abe a speaking role in a film before it's too late.
