Surge
SURGE is a feature documentary about the historic 2018 midterm elections, in which a record number of first-time female candidates ran, won, and upended politics. SURGE follows three candidates in Texas, Indiana, and Illinois as they try to turn their red districts blue, including Lauren Underwood, the youngest black woman ever elected to Congress. Lauren is a registered nurse and public health expert who is now fighting for COVID-19 relief as a freshman congresswoman.
