THE KIDS MENU is a feature-length documentary from the team behind "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead." While filmmaker Joe Cross traveled the world for his previous two projects, he met hundreds of individuals and one issue that came up often was how to address the growing epidemic of kid obesity. Joe speaks with experts, parents, teachers, and children in THE KIDS MENU, and comes to the conclusion that juvenile obesity is not the true problem, but rather a symptom of a larger one. The lack of information about what constitutes a healthy food. Inadequate access to inexpensive and healthful options. Additionally, there is the influence of poor role models, whether they are parents, teachers, or even celebrities. All of this may appear to be a lot to overcome, but when given the opportunity, children frequently make the unexpected choice of the healthier path.
