The Story of Qiu Ju

The Story of Qiu Ju is just a 1992 Chinese comedy-drama film. Zhang Yimou directed the film and in most of the films, stars Gong Li in the title role. The screenplay is a adaption of the novella The Wan Family's Lawsuit of Chen Yuanbin. The film tells the story of a peasant woman. Qiu Ju journeys into a town, and after a city to deal with its bureaucrats in order to discover justice when her husband is kicked in the groin by the village mind.
