Hogan's Heroes
Hogan's Heroes was a CBS sitcom that aired for 168 episodes between September17,1965, and July4, 1971. During World War II, the show was set in a German POW camp. Colonel Robert E. Hogan, played by Bob Crane, is in charge of a multinational team of Allied inmates who run a Special Operations force from the camp. Colonel Wilhelm Klink, the camp's commandant, was played by Werner Klemperer, while Hans Schultz, an ineffective sergeant-of-the-guard, was played by John Banner. During its six-season run, the show was hugely popular. The sequel and various independent rights to Hogan's Heroes were purchased from Mark Cuban in 2013 through arbitration by creators Bernard Fein through his estate and Albert S. Ruddy, and a film based on the show is in the works.
