Spider-Man: The New Animated Series
Spider-Man: The New Animated Series is an American animated series based on the Marvel comic book superhero character Spider-Man that aired for one season, 13 episodes, beginning on July 11, 2003. It is a loose continuation of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film from 2002. The show was produced using computer-generated imagery rendered in cel shading and shown on MTV and YTV. Eight months after the series finale, episodes played in reruns on ABC Family as part of the Jetix television programming block. The series presented a significantly more mature depiction of the character than is normal for any animated comic book adaptation on television. Characters are obviously slain during the series, rather than simply disappearing, and numerous characters are heavily hinted to have had sex.
