Aftershock: Earthquake in New York is a disaster miniseries that was produced in 1999 and aired on CBS in the United States in two parts. The first half of the miniseries was telecast on November14, while the second part aired on November 16. It was initially made available on VHS in the year 2000 and then on DVD the following year. Chuck Scarborough is the author of the novel that this adaptation is based on. Charles S. Dutton, Sharon Lawrence, Tom Skerritt, Lisa Nicole Carson, Jennifer Garner, Rachel Ticotin, and Frederick Weller are among the actors who appear in this production. The miniseries, which was directed by Mikael Salomon, follows five different groups of people in the aftermath of a significant earthquake that struck New York City. Because of the quality of the special effects, it was put forward for consideration for an Emmy Award. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the cast and special effects while others lambasted it for having an unbelievable plot, being too predictable, and not being realistic enough.
