We view an array of household items that with one click of a button or twist of a knob will spring into life, when we look round our homes, garages and sheds, and - most of the time - do precisely what we need them to. However, how on earth do all these objects do the job? To find out, James May (fuelled by endless glasses of tea) heads into his workshop with thousands of pieces to assemble some of their most treasured and recognisable objects from scratch to see what it actually takes to get them to do the job.
