Lights Out
Lights Out was an American radio program, an instance of a network show devoted to the supernatural and terror, pre dating Suspense and Inner Sanctum. Versions of lights-out aired occasionally, on networks, from January 1934 and the series finally forced the transition to tv.
Back in 1946, NBC Television attracted Lights outside to television in a collection of four specials, air and produced by Fred Coe, who donated three of the scripts. NBC asked Cooper to write the script for its premiere,"First Person Singular", that will be told entirely from the perspective of an hidden murderer who kills his obnoxious wife and winds up being implemented. Variety gave this very first installment a rave review ("definitely one of the very most breathtaking shows yet seen on a tv monitor"), however Lights outdid become a regular NBC-TV series before 1949.
